ART STUDY CAMP AT VAGAMON HEIGHTS

The ART( Association of Retired Teachers of Kottarakara College conducted its annual study camp on 15^th and 16^th of May 2012 at Vagamon Heights Resort . The team of ART members started its journey from Kottarkara on 15^th May, 2012 at 8 am. The team reached Vagamon at 1 pm. After the lunch Inagural session of the study camp began at 3pm at the open auditorium of the  resort. The resort arranged Treking through the deep forest and top of the hill areas of the vagamon. They also arranged Boating through the Vagamon Lake. The second session of the ART was at 8.30 pm on 15^th May. Prof. Achamma John, President of ART  presided.Prof. John Kurakar, Secretary of the Association welcomed the members. Prof.T.Babu Kutty inaugurated the Study Camp. Prof.K.J Cheriyan,,Prof.John Rajan, Prof. George Thomas,Prof. Annamma George, Prof. Nirmala Mathew Prof. M.Annamma, Prof Annamma George, Prof. Jessy George,, Prof. P.K Varghese, Mrs Lissy Varghese, Prof.Molly Kurakar, Prof. Leelamma Babukutty Mrs Molly Cheriyan  were addressed the meeting The women’s team of ART presented  devotional songs. The grand child of Prof.Babukutty & Prof.K.J Cherian were also participated on the study camp and tour.

16^th May,2012, 2^nd day of the study camp began at 8.30 am. After the breakfast the team visited  Kurishu mala, Pine forest, Kolagala medu and Thangal para and other  tourist-historical places in vagamon. The team returned to Kottarakara on 16^th May on 5 pm. 20 members participated the study camp and tour programme

K.P.CT.A MEET

The annual meet of the Kerala Private College Teachers Association was held at HighLand Hotel on 19^th March,2012 at 11.30. Prov. Varghese Panicker presided over the function. Prof. T.S Joy welcomed the members. Dr. Jolly Jacob, Syndicate member, Kerala University inaugurated the annual function. Dr. P.K Jose Kutty, Dr.K.C Raju, Prof. G Jacob spoke on the occasion. The KPCTA Members gave warm farewell to Dr Venugopalan Nair, the retiring teacher. Dr. Jolly Jacob presented the memento to the retiring teacher. Dr Suman Alexander expressed vote of thanks. The function concluded with a photo session and Lunch at 2pm.

ST.GREGORIOS COLLEGE ART 11TH ANNUAL MEET

St. Gregorios College Retired Teachers Association 11th annual Family get-together was held on 21st September,2011 at St. Gregorios College Seminar Hall. Prof. John Kurakar, ART Secretary welcomed the members. Prof. P.A Mathew, Former president ART inaugurated the 11th annual Family meet. Prof. Achamma John, President presided.
The annual function began at 10 am with prayer. Dr P.K Jose kutty, Principal gave keyenote address. Prof. T. Babu Kutty,Prof.K.G Mathew, Rev. Daniel Cor Episcopa, Rev. Fr. Baby Thomas, Prof. T.G Rajan, Prof. A.C Kunjujamma, Prof. P.S George, Prof. K.J Cheriyan, Prof T.J Johnson, Prof.M.K JoyKutty were spoke on the occasion
Prof. K.J Cheriyan welcomed the newly appointed younger generation teachers. Miss Anju Alex and Geno Ninan were attended. The Induction of new members was at 11.30 am. Dr. Yohannan Varghese, Rev. Fr.Baby Thomas, Prof. P.K Varghese, Dr. MKP Royee, Prof. V.G Sreekumar, Prof. K.O Johnson, Prof. Lalithabika, Prof.Molly Jacob were participated on the oath ceremony..
After the oath ceremony the members actively participated the various discussions on pension matters, Kottayam KRCTA Conference and Study Tour and ART Directory. Prof T.J Johnson and Prof. K.O Johnson were presented beautiful arts programmes like solo and poetry. Dr. Jacob John expressed vote of thanks. The Lunch was at 1 p.m

(KPCTA demands dissolution of Kannur University Syndicate)

The Kerala Private College Teachers' Association (KPCTA) Kannur university regional committee has demanded dissolution of the university Syndicate for what it calls violation of university rules and the order of the Chancellor and Governor in the appointment of the Registrar. A release issued by the KPCTA said the committee had sent a representation to Governor R.S. Gavai and Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb demanding that a detailed probe be ordered into the appointment of the Registrar and that the Syndicate be disbanded for its alleged disregard for the Chancellor's order, court judgment, and university statutes. The release said the university rules clearly stated that the applicant for the post of Registrar should have administrative experience in colleges or universities for five years. The release said the new Registrar did not have the stipulated administrative experience.

It said that as per information accessed by invoking the Right to Information Act, A. Ashokan, who became Registrar, had been elevated to the head of the Economics Department of Nehru Arts and Science College at Taliparamba on April 1, 2001. The information revealed that Dr. Ashokan had not served in administrative position over teachers or staff of the college during service as teacher at the college, the release said adding that the Syndicate had misused its powers.The association would resort to agitation if the demands were not met.The regional committee of the association met here on June 19. Regional president K.P. Muhammadali presided. Office-bearers Balachandran Keezhoth, A. Ramesh Babu, Fed Mathew, and P. Musafir Ahmad were among those present at the meeting.
